* Most definitely better than buying a lotto ticket but a game of chance, nonetheless.

* N people outside of backgammon would associate elo with Chess and the first question more often than not on their lips is: isn't that the board game with the pointy-things played with dice?

* elo is subject to manipulation especially on gaming sites

* Gaming sites have their own interests at heart i.e. MONEY!!!!

* Luck will be the predominant factor between two equally skilled players; the inevitability of a coin toss will determine the outcome

Just playing devils advocate with a gentle brush of opposition. You've got to get tough bcuz the opposition will be tough.
