XG does a 14-day free trial, and that would be the best way to make your own comparison. I did just that, and promptly wiped Gnub off my hard drive. XG is the best $50 I ever spent, even though it has maddening foibles and could be made a far, far better teaching aid than it currently is. I wish Xavier had a big-picture, forest-rather-than-trees consultant like Nack Ballard or Kit Woolsey, but it's still a truly brilliant piece of programming which wipes the floor with Gnubg in every department that matters.
