With a stripped 8pt, unstacking the midpoint gains in equity against running. In this position, unstacking forces Blue to leave a triple shot on the 18pt, but the play is nevertheless tied with running. For comparison, I moved a Blue checker from the midpoint to the 8pt. Unstacking is then less urgent, and running clearly beats splitting. This XG 3-ply rollout gives a small edge to splitting. Although Stick’s GNU rollout favors running by 0.0026, the margin is so small that there is no real disagreement with XG. Mike
