FibsLeaGammon, ongoing since 2001, is open for new players.

If you are looking for some online backgammon action and would enjoy finding new opponents in our well organized and long running online backgammon community. Please read on and join us in the fun.

The Fibs Backgammon League (FibsLeaGammon) is an absolutely free and non-profit activity located at:

http://fibsleagammon.free.fr .

Currently 111 active players are divided into four leagues (Master, Gold, Silver and Bronze) of two divisions each. There is also a Sezame league intended for new players. Here's a graphic describing the flow of the league:

There are 12 players in each division so players can expect 11 matches within the two month sessions. This is 5.5 matches per month or 1.3 matches per week. Match length in the Master divisions is 9 points and 7 for the rest. After each match is confirmed players can follow their progress on an updated ranking list. They can also check their progress on an annual Masters points list (see below about FIBS Masters Championship).

The session champion is decided in a playoff of the top four players from the Master divisions. Matches in semis are 11 points and the final is 13. Here is a list of past champs:

Sessions are separate and may be considered independent competitions so players are not forced to play all sessions in a given year. Off course, more participation will reflect on total Masters points as well as placement within the league for the next session. Players may sit out one session with no lowering of FibsLeaGammon status.

There are five sessions in one year, so players can expect 55 competitive matches within the whole year. During summer holidays (July and August) there are no League activities.

Complete FibsLeaGammon rules are here:

For 2008 we are introducing the FIBS Masters Championship. This is an annual tournament for the 12 most successful FibsLeaGammon players of the previous year. We have developed a rating system which awards points for every match win and sessions' ranking for all five FibsLeaGammon sessions in the year. Players from Master, Gold and Silver leagues can earn Masters points. The format for all matches in the championship will be best-of-three 9 point matches. Find out more about the FIBS Masters Championship at
