Rake?

I never organized a tourney, but I suspect there are many costs (time or organizers, payment for staff, rent tourney venue, equipment rent and depreciation), and the tourney will only earn significant revenues if it succeeds in attracting a lot of players. And the entry fee is not that high, so the "rake" applied matters less.

Even if we disregard the extremely high rake (which is a tough thing to do when we talk about something as high as 60% rake), only 4 prizes in a field of 150+ players is already more than enough to put me off as a player.
Money is not my primary concern and I'd be willing to pay a bit more for a good tourney, but this is simply too much.
I guess they could split the prizes to a larger number of players but then it would become much more obvious that the prizes are actually very thin, compared to the overall profit of an organizer.
