In this very close race, Blue cannot afford to give White a shot. Being hit would cost him most of his race equity, leaving only some (not insignificant) shot equity to keep him alive.

Burying a checker inside, wasting a few pips with I = Inside (6/5, 6/2), is my concession. Now, let’s see what point White wants to give up.
