Slotting the 5 seems to be the best way to play the ace. As for the deuce, i don't think moving the runner up is correct - this far behind in the race blue wants to either make the anchor or maximize contact by hanging back.

8/6 seems weak, so that leaves slotting the four or bringing one down from the midpoint. I think I like 6/4 - any 1,2, or 3 (or 8 or 9) and I've got a hameboard point, 4s make the golden point, so lots of rolls play well after this.
