There is a 1600 player and a 1900 player. They play 100 sets of 25p matches to win by the score (usual tournament style). Which format rewards 1900 more? I believe PR does better. Maybe some one could check their stats against same opponent to see if my statement is right.

This is a good argument if it is correct. I would be interested in statistics.

If people can enjoy the format, what is the problem?

In some sense it's true that there's no "problem." Similarly if everyone decides to give up backgammon because they find other things more fun, there's no "problem" with that either. But don't you try to persuade people who aren't currently very enthusiastic about backgammon to become more enthusiastic about it? Don't you try to show them merits to an activity that they currently underappreciate because of lack of familiarity? I'm not doing anything different here.
