Seeking ideas/rules for a new variation of BG

Each player starts with 7 checkers. The formal starting position is given below. All rules of the traditional game remain the same with the addition of 2 new rules. This is what I have so far:

Each players remaining 8 checkers begin on the bar.

Rule 1. Each player is permitted to enter checkers from the bar once 3 points have been made.

Rule 2. A player is restricted from entering checkers from the bar if they have less points made than the opponent.

The ramifications concerning complexity and how long a game can last I'll leave to the mathematicians, chess players and expert problem solvers.
