Don't usually respond to double position posts, but this one looks like it could use some replies.

Problem 1 Well behind in the race and given the potential distribution of back checkers (and opp's non-threatening HB) I'll bring a checker off the mid. 25/23, 13/7

Problem 2 Lots of things play into this decision but it looks to me like most of them favor hitting the checker on White's side. Gains the most in the race and of the two checkers, that's the easier one for opp to clean up. I want BOTH of them sent back. 23/16*
