These two positions share a common theme:
A lone back checker together with a very front loaded position, more so in the second position.
You need to try and keep hold of the rear most points because if you advance them black will get too much outfield control plus they could be useful for landing spots for your rear checker.
So in position A:
B/22 6/3(3)
In position B: The choices are between
6/1 (3) 7/2 I'm not so keen on burying the checker on the ace
7/2(3) 6/1 This worsens white's flexibility but doesn't bury a checker but seems better than the first play
7/2 (2) 6/1(2) Although this leaves a shot it does create a four point board which white may have trouble building otherwise and which obviously come in useful should he hit a shot so I think it's a good trade off so that is my play
