Family	Nactation	Traditional Notation	Note
Inside	I	6/5(2), 6/4	In the I (Inside) family, all parts of a roll are moved within the inner board. By the Hit Convention, making a new point in the inner board outranks hitting anywhere on the board.
Point	P	6/3, 4/3	The P (Point) family includes a Dedication Clause requiring that all parts of a roll be used to make a single new point. Exceptions are made for entering checkers and forced moves. It is acceptable to switch points, or break a point, so long as a single new point is made in the process. Adding spares to the new point is not allowed.
