I'd also try the hit. The tempo is important - White has many things to do on the reply, but will not be able to do all, so we are likely to have a chance to make a good point at our side of the board, or to hit the bar slot.

I am also happy to activate the bunch of checkers close to our midpoint - not economic to have that many checkers tied up there in a knot.
