I don't really understand this position either, but my guess is that 24/21 13/11* is the DMP play. I'm inclined to play it ATS too, although it does look like it will lose more gammons.

A candidate that you didn't mention was making the 4pt. I think that the combination of the 4pt and the 8pt and no blot and unstacking the 6pt is a little better than the 5pt here.
