Memorizing two-roll positions

Two-roll positions seem like a plausible candidate for systematic study. They're complicated enough to be difficult to calculate OTB, and EPC methods don't work reliably on them. Has anyone here made a serious effort along these lines?

Here's a recent example that I botched.

White is Player 2

score: 0
pip: 11
Money session
Jacoby
pip: 11
score: 0

Blue is Player 1
XGID=-AA-B---------------aa-a--:1:1:1:00:0:0:1:0:10
Blue on roll, cube action?
