In Response To: Stick's recent GV article on breaking anchor (Timothy Chow)

Should i stay or should i go?

I will answer Stick's questions.

1. The race. Behind. Stay 1:0

2. The offense facing. 12 men is ready for roof. Stay 2:0

3. The own offense. Outboarded. Stacked. Not fish nor meat. Stay 3:0

4. Opponent's Focus. Just waiting for a friend to slash away. Stay 4:0

5. How to play otherwise then running. That is the only point to ponder. Deep in my brain is a sentence that the "good players try to stay in front of the anchor, almost religiously, then to burn checkers behind the anchor". So what is with the Contender DOWN? Even being hit isn't the end of the world. With an anchor. If not hit, an ace makes four in a row. At least, a better chance to make the points in order, then the dilly dumping. Playing down is another play for me. Stay 5:0

So i should stay, standing on the shoulders of anchors away. No dilly dumping.

13/8 13/7 must be the winner. If every point is against anchors away, this has to be another play. And sitting on the cube, gammons activated, i don't want to throw away the game in a shot.
