Something I was wondering concerns timing. Presumably after 11(2) White should stay put on Blue's 9-point. More timing allows him to stay longer, making it more likely Blue has trouble clearing the (stripped) 13- and 11-points?

If it's true that White is supposed to stay put with that blot, then "fallible opponent effects" enter the decision. (Actually that's also true if White is supposed to run the blot. :)
