Blue's race lead corresponds to a timing deficit. 8/4(2) might work this turn but Blue will often have to break the anchor or the midpoint very soon after that play -- just at the wrong time.

13/9(2) isn't as positional but caters to the race lead. I think that is the preferred GP here.
