2014 Texas Backgammon Championships -- San Antonio

Our new 2014 Texas Backgammon Championships brochure is now available at our texasbackgammon.com website. In addition to looking at the brochure, you might explore the fabulous website Tara has constructed with information on the tournament, the city, restaurants, tourist sights, and more.

We also have a new Facebook 'Events' page entitled "2014 Texas Backgammon Championships". If you are on Facebook and you will attend, or might attend, the tournament, we would appreciate you noting this on this Events page.

There will be several enhancements in 2014 that we feel will make the tournament even bigger and better than our very successful 2013 tournament. Among these changes are: All four days of the tournament will be held in the spacious Ballroom Suite. The Dual-Duel will start at noon on Thursday. Continuous entry doubles and seniors events will kick-off on Thursday afternoon to ensure larger fields and better organization than experienced in those events this year. There will be early and late starts of the Longhorn Classic and of the Alamo Classic on Friday afternoon and evening. There will also be two free events -- one aimed specifically toward new and/or inexperienced players.

An additional option included with the tournament this year is a special tournament rate for all of the luxury suites in the Menger Hotel. We expect many of the 25 suites to be booked early; so, if you're interested, make your reservations when you can.

We hope to see everyone in San Antonio next January. As we've said before, if you attended this year we're confident you'll want to return; if you didn't attend this year, you'll not want to miss it again !!!
