Is this that difficult for the average player to get right?

I think this is a tough play. Weak players tend to play too carefully and probably won't consider hitting loose on the 5pt. More advanced players hate stodgy plays and will often play too loose to avoid them. But who's right?

I'd play b/23 6/5* to lock up the best available anchor and keep White off balance. He's got a lot of ways to improve here if left alone and a lot of blots to worry about if he doesn't perform.
