What are the odds of Matt winning both?

In Response To: Matt Will Play In Two Vegas Finals Tomorrow (Stick)

Obviously, given equal players, the odds of Matt winning both is 3-1 against. Because Matt is likely to be a favorite in both matches, his odds are probably a little better than that, but the stress of playing two big finals in one day adds a fatigue and human factor that probably brings the real odds down to less.

Now, I remember begging Matt to ride with me to Minnesota and he reluctantly came and won both the Masters and the Open at that event, and I won a few bucks betting that he would win both (I don't remember the exact odds but I got something like 2.5 to 1).

Now, it is true that the competition in his finals matches there were not as tough as they are likely to be in Vegas, but it's also true he wasn't as good a player then, and he had far less muscle and was in worse physical shape and wasn't on steroids then.

But what was clear is that the fatigue factor was not a factor at all...in fact, maybe the additional adrenalin we more of a factor in the other direction.

So, bottom line, if someone wants to place a bet against Matt winning both finals and does so by email before either match begins and gets a confirming email from me, I will take Matt and take 2.8 to 1 that he wins both.

Also, I will only accept bets from people I know.
