The big question is, what is an average player.

I can't see any other plays and I think all but the weakest in my regular chou get this right. And very possibly even them. Might need to go down to the $5 chou and see what the weakest players there do.

Very weak but aggressive players will get this right.

Novice American (non aggressive) players might be most prone to getting it wrong. But that's only because the baseline backgammon skill is just so incredibly low here.
