So.... Playing in a local westchester meetup (sub-meetup of my NYC meetup) just to support it.

There's a money player there who normally plays for $5s.

I start talking about playing for $5s and less and how I do ridiculous things (cube handling mostly but some über funky checker play). Long story short, we start playing for $1s.

I screwed around, took a 4cube that was maybe a .1 drop, turned it around, recubed to 8 (D/D by maybe 0.3), and gammoned him.

I wasn't completely silent as this was happening and there were 4 or 5 people watching. But nothing outrageous either.

Next thing I know and he's in my face asking me if I want to step outside. He was quite serious. I defused the situation with the help of the organizer who was a friend of his who later apologized for his behavior.

Alcohol and backgammon don't mix, I suppose.
