Here's a dilemma if playing legal moves

There were two people in the game that thought Matt and I were being completely unfair to even suggest he should not pick up the checker, and one (Taki) actually quit the game even after we gave a very generous settlement, and three days later Scott was still claiming we were out of line until I called over several very top players and Scott asked them what they thought and they all said that Matt and I were suckers for settling.

The final clincher was when I told Scott that if either Matt or I had made the mistake of not picking up the checker, there would have been NO DEBATE at all...we would have taken our medicine politely (though there might have been a couple of interesting comments between the two of us depending on which one of us missed the hit).

Bottom line, Matt and I were true and complete gentlemen that didn't want to see the fish get pissed and leave the game.
