There is a better solution. Play on a computer, instead of a board. No fast rolling, no cocked dice, no illegal moves, no capricious cube handling or cubes at crawford.

Of course, I do understand why most tournament directors object to computers and iPads instead of boards, but if I ran a tournament, this is the first rule I would change...allow anyone who want to play on a computer the option to do so. Of course, I would require that the pip count be turned off and there be no analysis until the match is over.

Bill Davis allows us to do this at the Barpoint Club and it is THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT REASON I try to come every week. Because most of the better players are willing to play me on XG on my computer, the evening is far more interesting and educational for me and I play with much more intensity knowing that every play I make is recorded and scrutinized, as well as my overall play. (And that is why I consistently play under 12.0!)
