If he picks up his [dice] without completing his move, I should let him reverse the mistake.
If he doesn't see a hit, I should help him.
If he moves illegally and poorly, I should allow him to correct it so he can win the match, even though the current ABT rules state I can choose to let his bad, illegal play stand.
That's not what I meant to say. All I'm saying is you should not feel obligated to maximize your equity when applying a Type II rule. You should do what you think is best -- you are perfectly free to let the play stand if you want to.
