Favorable Review of Tournament in Atlanta

I am usually a passive reader in this forum, but this post has urged me to reply.
I agree with all the favorable reviews and congratulations.
However, I arrived near the beginning of the amateur jackpot (I believe it is called the Atlanta Cup) since my flight was delayed due to weather conditions. As I was in a hurry to register and pay for the tournaments, check-in, and have lunch, I found myself five minutes late (only! Not exaggerating. I have witnesses). I allowed myself those five minutes since I know I have some grace period. During those five minutes my name was called several times, I received texts and calls saying that if I would not show in the next two minutes, I would have gotten penalty points. I didn't pay much attention as I was there and focused on the game and assumed this is the policy and everyone gets the same treatment.
When the big group of (mainly) locals was late in the following day and led to my long wait after I planned my break knowing that I play as soon as it is over, I was upset. I still preferred not to say anything until they publicly announced it and asked us to be patient and "thanked" us for our understanding. Then I approached and said what was on my mind. I got no response, but when I walked back I overheard two of the staff members talking between themselves and rationalizing it by saying (not quoting, but similar tone of words): it is a different case which should be treated differently since it is a big party that is late for the main event and not a side event.
Instead of being vocal about it at the time, I just decided quietly that it was my first and last tournament in Atlanta. I am not going back to a place where I am not treated equally.
As I saw this post here, I decided to share my experience and perspective.
