Favorable Review of Tournament in Atlanta

Thanks for understanding my side of the story Neil.
As per your questions/comments:
1. I hurried myself so I won't be more than five minutes late since I didn't want to push the deadline of the (maybe wrongly assumed) 15 minutes grace period. I was surprised by the 2 minutes warning but tried to get into a focus zone for my coming game, and (wrongly) assumed that this is probably the rules/policy in Atlanta. I am pretty sure that had I gotten penalty points, I would have made a scene. Ironically, when I registered and paid I mentioned to one of the staff members that I would be late, but no more than 5 minutes. She approved and said I have nothing to be worried about.
2. Brian Ross, the Tournament Director, was with the large group.
3. I am not familiar with the details, but I heard they left long after we went on a break.
Overall, the staff is very friendly and kept this tournament in such an environment, and as I said the favorable review is justified. It was their poor judgment that significantly conflicted with my case that led me to the mentioned conclusion. Generally speaking, I am aware that it is very demanding and difficult to run a successful tournament, and you cannot satisfy everyone. I usually highly appreciate the director's work and say it to them in person at the end of the tournament. In this case I just figured I was "the unsatisfied one", as it seemed that all were not complaining. Therefore, I avoided making a scene. Moreover, I am relatively new to this backgammon community and ABT events and I see the decline in popularity when looking at attendance (US). As I don't want to contribute to the trend, during the chain of events, I preferred to swallow the pill and keep quiet.
