I agree that the duping of 43, 42, and to an extent 45, is a factor. It just seems horrible to have to leave an open blot on the 11.

I think the issue with this position is that the overriding compulsion is to come up. Of course you would do so with 11 and 22, but clearly you can't afford to with other 1s and 2s.
