What's bad for backgammon is savaging a director, especially for minor lapses, to the extent that he/she gives it up. Yes, TDs should know the rules, but an inflexible application of rules is not always the best result. In this case, no one was DQ'd, so there is no discrimination to complain about. I'm not aware of any "uneveness" in the application of rules at the Atlanta tournament.

Of course, I would be unhappy if improperly DQ'd, but that has nothing to do with the Atlanta situation.
