Hitting and tidying up with 18/16* 18/13 is the 'obvious' play, but i don't like how it turns brown's ill-timed backgame into a reasonably well-timed one. that said, white's 5-prime may be enough of a blockade that giving brown some timing is a fine thing to do.
I'll play 18/13 10/8 - cover the blot on the midpoint and run another to safety. Will brown even want to hit the ensuing blot on the 18/ And if so, will it be merely to try to force a hit on one of his homeboard blots to regain some timing?
Not sure. Backgames are weird.
