So the tournament is over and we have all the numbers, facts and figures.....

To start with, this tournament paid out the 3rd largest prize-pool in the world. The 2 others, namely Monte-Carlo and Nordic Open, both are much more expensive, to Cyprus takes the lead in the comparison.

To continue, all the events had positive equity for the players from a pure numbers perspective: less than 9000 rake in Masters, but 10000 added, less than 1500 rake in Advanced but 3000 added, less than 4000 rake in Doubles but 5000 added.

On top, the rake was used to offer:

all drinks (soft and alcoholic beverage) and food FREE

cheap rate in a very good standard hotel including breakfast and dinner buffet

5 people on staff, working daily 14-15 hours for a week

use of professional equipment free of charge: high quality tabletop boards, dice service, clocks, score-boards

gala dinner, band, music and dance

over 30 beautiful unique trophies

So if people sit at home, can´t even count 2+2 and don´t see that Cyprus is the tournament with the best value for money and unreached worldwide, I have exactly 2 words for them.
