In Response To: What means "explain"? (Chuck Bower)

This kind of obstacle hasn't been a dealbreaker in other arenas. For example, Siri doesn't think like a human but is able to wreck a nice beach and provide good answers a lot of the time.

Having said that, I agree that the problem that Phil wants to see solved is far more difficult than he appreciates, perhaps even AI-complete. Hence my half-serious quip about the singularity.
