There's no reason a computer program can't have two entirely separate modules, one that is used for determining its preferred play, and another for crafting explanations for human consumption.

It sounds to me that you're making the implicit assumption that because human explanations are derived from the concepts that humans use to arrive at their plays, a computer explanation must be derived from the concepts that the computer uses to arrive at its play. But my point with Siri is that computers can craft their interactions with humans based on very different principles that have no human analogue.
