What are the best settings for a NMS rollout?

Timothy: If we're quibbling about such fine details then there's always the nagging issue that equities aren't defined for money-game positions (other than non-contact races). Your citation is a fascinating one that first caught my attention when you referred to it earlier this week. I was not aware that such a position exists.
Two points come to mind.
First, the circumstance of equity being undefined must be extremely rare. I have never knowingly come upon it in play, although I suppose that might be because I have not been paying attention. Do you have any information about just how rare the problem is? I suspect it is much more common to find that one or two cube turns and a gammon threat at 11-away, 11-away have caused equities to be distorted.
Second, there is nothing we can do about the fact that equity is occassionally undefined. We simply accept it, and use concept when we can. Selecting the best settings for an NMS rollout, on the other hand, is trivial. The fact that equity is sometimes undefined is no excuse for willfully choosing a sub-optimal NMS setting.
