If equity is undefined for a position X, then it is also undefined for any other position Y that might eventually evolve to position X. So it is really not that rare a phenomenon. It's just that if the probability of (say) a cube value of 2¹⁰⁰ is 2^–100 then we'll never observe it in practice, so we'll be lulled into a false sense of security by our piddling 2²⁰-game rollouts that seem to be stabilizing.
