The Perfect Bot--Will we Every Have one?

We'll then need a new level of programming and artificial intelligence so that they can truly learn to understand what they are doing when playing BG and explain it in a way we humans can understand.

This I agree with completely. It's a whole new ball game.

Today's uber-bots do more than crawl but are still learning to walk. We need a couple more iterations of improved bots before they can walk decently.

This I don't understand, though, and I'm curious what capabilities you envisage for the bots in the next two standard, insightless neural net iterations.
