Lectures at the upcoming Chicago Open

We have two great lectures at the tournament this year. First, on Sunday @ 9:30 AM CST Phil Simborg and Jake Jacobs are collaborating on a lecture entitled, "Are you smarter than Jake?" This was origionally targeted to Intermediate players but has morphed into something all will thoroughly enjoy. From what Phil tells me Jake is going to "thoroughly entertain" rather than just lecture. On Monday @ 10:00 AM CST Paul Weaver will be giving a lecture titled, "Checker play in backgames." I attended one of Paul's lectures about eight years ago on playing a 5,3 in various positions. It was exremely well presented and I learned a ton. Whether you plan on attending the Chicago Open or not you will have the opportunity to watch both lectures as we will be streaming them on the USBGF channel.
More tournament announcements coming soon...
