U.S. and International USBGF Collegiate Championship

The University of South Carolina’s Michaela Close (MickCat) faces Michael Zakrajsek (Riversend) of the University of Texas in a semifinal matchup of the USBGF sponsored US Collegiate Backgammon Championship. The match to 9 points is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 at 3:00pm ET (GG time) on the GridGammon webserver. Benjamin Friesen from the University of Michigan defeated Northwestern’s David Presser in the other semifinal and awaits the winner in the collegiate final. Northwestern leads South Carolina 3 – 2 in the team standings.
In the International Collegiate Championship, Russia’s Agamir Gevorkyan will play Junichi Kieda of Japan in the 11 point final for the championship. The scheduled date and time for the finals matches will be announced once determined.
