I see a few options;

1)clear the 10 and whack the blot on the ace 10/4(3) 7/1*

This leaves only 11 shots, and most of the time white will enter that irksome blot where it's not so much in the way. The thing i don't like about this play is that is strips the 7 while leaving the 8 & 6 stacked

2)clear the 10 and slot the 2 point. 14/4(3) 8/2

This leaves no more shots and a better distribution than 1). Unfortunately it doesnt' force white to enter the blot with reduced contact.

3) stack the 2 with 8/2(4)

Blue is way ahead in the race, so simply playing safe and trying to win the race makes a lot of sense. But, man, this move looks ugly and seems to almost guarantee leaving a shot later when white's board is stronger

4) make the 2 and 4 points 10/4(2) 8/2(2)

5) that bot move that I just can't see for myself.

Positionally, this is best, however with the huge racing lead superior position is not as important. White will have to break anchor to hit (except with a roll of 54, but this may be better played by making another homeboard point after hitting.) 54 and 55 are horror rolls, but everything else worke either very well or at least gives blue some counterplay.

I'm going with 4, although I know that I tend to overvalue permanent assets like homeboard points in some positions so I'm not sure about this one.

10/4(2) 8/2(2)

I'd play 5) if I knew what it was.
