Gnu relational database question

I would like to use the analysis->relational database feature in gnubg. However, when I click 'show records', I get the message 'error running query' and 'database error'. The 'help' option shows nothing.
I am running a recent version of gnubg on Linux.
Does anybody know how I should set up the relational database in gnubg?
