3-1 from bar

What is clear to me is that the value of the 22pt anchor here has skyrocketed compared to your normal position. This is true of any position where the opponent has dead checkers, awkward undevelopable stacks, and the big racing lead he has doesn't hurt either. We want to stay back on that anchor so I enter bar/22 and look around for the best ace.

Since we aren't advancing the anchor and 15/14 is out since it leaves too many blots/shots for no real reason we're down to 21/20 or 6/5. 6/5 maintains a small duplication on fours to hit and escape his back checkers but that's a minor detail. I feel like showing that back checker more of the outfield/coverage and allowing it to hop out easier should take priority so I move 21/20. It's generally not right to push spares any deeper in your inner board than necessary unless you have a legit reason. I don't see one here even though a spare on the five point certainly doesn't qualify as awkward or bad.
