Summary: in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York, a woman who hails from Germany where she learned the game from her father who competed "professionally" (there are so many of those!), and who owns an interior decorating business that sells furniture and nicknacks appropriately priced for the Hamptons, including a $20,000 sideboard and a $3,500 backgammon set, has also run a 16-player invitation-only tournament where the first prize was a $1,500 leather covered cooler. A good time was had by all.
