Off to Jamaica, Mon

There is a very cool tournament in Kingston on the 29th. It's only a one-day event but it draws a good crowd from all over the island and a few crazy visitors like me. They usually get from 30-50 players and there is only one division--Open.

Most people don't think of Kingston as a tourist city, and it is true that there are places you don't want to be alone in at night (isn't that true of a lot of places?), but it is a great place to visit if you know the right people, and the backgammon players there are the right people.

I will be staying for about a week to enjoy chouettes, poker, and just sightseeing. The Bob Marley museum alone is worth the trip.

There will be a weekend-long tournament November 1-3 as well and I will be helping to organize and promote that one.
