With the opp's distribution we win the race when we get in it more than 64% of the time. Also I think the odds of him not being able to escape and us crashing down on him or crunching far outweigh the immediate 2/36 rolls. Lastly, even if our gammon losses are small in hitting it will still deflate a couple of win percentage chances since it is gammon save. I didn't do much analysis in making my play originally because I hated hitting so much.
