Never Beaver (Hardly ever)

When you beaver, you tell your inferior opponent that he is doubling too early, and you teach him not to do that in the future. You are also rubbing it in his face that he is an idiot. Not only could you lose your fish, but if he stays, you remove one of the biggest edges you can have in a money game: holding the cube too soon. Also, do you really want to win that much in one game from a weaker player (assuming that most beavers are against fairly weak players)? And, if he gets lucky and wins, do you really want the cube that high against a weaker player?
Yes, it is mathematically correct, but it is not a smart tactic.
So unless it is Carter, or someone I know will be back or who would never believe he could be wrong, you won't see me beaver.
