There is no reason to handle the cube capriciously
I agree -- there's no reason to handle any equipment capriciously. But why a special rule for the cube? And why is it worded in such an odd way? If they mean you should perform your cube actions clearly and unambiguously, that would be a better way to say it.
... it might reveal information.
You mean it might induce the opponent to reveal how they will respond? I guess it could, but so might saying, "I wonder if I should double?" and that isn't expressly forbidden.
Anyway, it seems a very strange rule to me -- too ambiguous to have any real value.
