As you and Jason pointed out there are many benefits to not putting everything in caps. I've mentioned this before in the past and I do make an effort to simply change the subject line any time someone shouts. There is also a definite benefit to keeping the subject line shorter rather than longer if possible. Remember, not everyone has the same screen size, font size, etc... so the longer your subject line is the more likely it is to make someone's screen look like trash for navigating the forums. If details are called for and a subject line needs to be long, so be it, but I find that's not usually the case.
