Wanted: Device to simulate a clock

I'm looking for a low-cost device or object to simulate a clock. Something with two "buttons" and records the state. Tapping an object is not enough, because it has to record the state. Picking up a moving an object from one side of the board to the other is too low-tech. It needs to FEEL like a clock -- that is, I push a button or equivalent thing.

The idea is for a beginner to practice with a clock simulator before progressing to a real clock. And I want to save a couple of bucks at the moment.
