In Response To: Cube Action? (mandm1951)
Luckily this is a straightforward computation with dead cube doubling window, which for white is about 14%--60%. Terrapin has all the details of the computation, except that 5a-1a is 16%, not 19%.
The position is extremely volatile and any hit-dance sequence is a market loser. So, redouble is crystal clear. What about take? Blue needs at least 40% to take. Does he win that much?
If white hits, blue can hit back on 6pt and be back in the game. So, 20/36 hits don't always produce an automatic win. Of the non-hitting 16/36 numbers, white does not have much chance at another hit, for this she would have to dance (9/36), blue not cover, etc.
All in all it looks like blue definitely wins a bit over 44% (16/36) of the time which is more than enough for a take.
